RAT Strap - Rescue Assault Tether
The RAT Strap (Rescue Assault Tether) is a compact casualty extraction tool designed to help responders rapidly move injured personnel from dangerous environments. Originally developed for tactical operations, the RAT Strap functions as a force multiplier, allowing a single rescuer to move a casualty more efficiently while maintaining situational awareness.
The tether allows hands-free casualty movement, enabling responders to drag a patient while maintaining control of equipment or continuing to engage threats if necessary. A quick-release shackle allows the rescuer to rapidly detach from the casualty if the situation changes.
Its daisy-chain style webbing configuration provides multiple reinforced attachment points so the tether can be adjusted for different rescuer heights, drag positions, and terrain conditions. The system supports head-first or feet-first drags and works well for shield-assisted rescues, corridor extractions, and open-area casualty movement.
Compact and lightweight, the RAT Strap provides responders with a simple but highly effective solution for rapid casualty extraction when time and manpower are limited.
