The 2.0 is the updated version of NAR's field-proven thoracostomy kit -- same compact, vacuum-sealed packaging, refined contents. When needle decompression isn't enough and a finger thoracostomy is the call, this kit has everything in one place so you're not improvising under pressure.
The key upgrade over the original: dual 3-pack Chloraprep swabsticks, giving you full bilateral skin prep without stretching supplies, and a sterile fenestrated drape to establish a proper sterile field at the site. The #10 protected scalpel and curved Rochester Pean hemostat are unchanged -- the tools that do the work are the same.
Note that the 2.0 does not include a chest seal. If your protocol requires sealing the site post-procedure, ensure a vented chest seal is staged with this kit.
