In the Field
NAEMT authorization is what separates a real training center from someone running classes out of the back of a truck. The certification means the instructors have been vetted, the curriculum is standardized nationwide, and the card in your wallet at the end of the class carries weight with the agency writing the check. For procurement officers, that authorization is often the line between a course that gets approved for training funds and one that does not.
Common Mistake
Buying training based on price rather than authorization and instructor pedigree.
Technical Detail
The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) is a professional association representing EMS practitioners in the United States. NAEMT develops and licenses some of the most widely used pre-hospital medical education programs, including Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC), and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC).
NAEMT authorizes training centers to deliver its courses under standardized curricula. Authorized training centers must meet instructor, facility, and quality assurance requirements. Completion of an NAEMT course produces a certification card recognized across EMS agencies nationwide.
Penn Tactical Solutions is an NAEMT-authorized training center, delivering TECC and related programs for law enforcement, EMS, fire, and civilian responders.
