TCCC-CLS is the 40-hour Department of Defense Combat Life Saver course, built for non-medical military personnel who may be required to provide emergency care on the battlefield. The course covers hemorrhage control, airway management, IV access, and the full TCCC framework. Developed and maintained by the Joint Trauma System.

TCCC Combat Life Saver is the 40-hour Department of Defense course designed for non-medical military personnel who need to provide emergency trauma care on the battlefield. It is built for soldiers, sailors, and other service members who are not primary medical personnel but who may be the first -- or only -- person available to care for a casualty.

Skills taught include:
- Tourniquet application and hemorrhage control
- Wound packing with hemostatic agents
- Pressure dressing application
- Airway management: recovery position and nasopharyngeal airway insertion
- Needle chest decompression
- IV access and fluid resuscitation
- Hypothermia prevention
- Casualty assessment using the TCCC framework
- Documentation and reporting

TCCC-CLS is developed and maintained by the Joint Trauma System and is appropriate for non-medical military personnel and government contractors operating in high-threat environments.
