All Hazards Disaster Response
ADHR
AHDR prepares EMS providers to operate effectively across the full spectrum of disaster scenarios: natural disasters, infrastructure failures, pandemics, active shooter incidents, and mass casualty events. The 8-hour course covers the National Incident Management System, triage principles, and provider safety in austere environments. Completion awards CAPCE credit.
All Hazards Disaster Response prepares EMS providers to respond effectively when the scale, complexity, or nature of an incident exceeds routine emergency operations. The course covers the types of disasters that EMS providers across Pennsylvania are most likely to encounter.
Topics covered include:
- The National Incident Management System and Incident Command Structure
- Triage principles and START triage
- Natural disasters and infrastructure failures
- Fire, hazmat, and radiological events
- Pandemic response and infection control
- Active shooter and mass casualty incidents
- Provider safety in austere and degraded environments
- Integration with mutual aid and multi-agency response
The course emphasizes decision-making and role clarity under conditions of incomplete information and limited resources. Completion awards CAPCE credit. No prior disaster response training required.
